lbmd-mail
A personal command-line tool for reading my own mailboxes.
lbmd-mail is a small program I wrote for myself. It reads the Google mailboxes I own and produces a short daily summary of what arrived, so that several accounts can be reviewed in one place instead of one browser tab each.
What it does
- Lists and searches messages across my own Gmail accounts.
- Reads the body of a message I select.
- Lists the labels on an account so a search can be written against them.
What it cannot do
- It cannot send, reply to or forward mail.
- It cannot delete, archive or modify anything in a mailbox.
- It requests read-only access only, through the
gmail.readonlyscope.
Who it is for
One person: me. There is no sign-up, no hosted service and no other user. It runs on a single machine I own and talks only to Google's API.
