Privacy policy
lbmd-mail · last updated 22 September 2026
lbmd-mail is a personal tool with a single user, its author. It is not a service, it has no other users, and it collects nothing from anyone else. This policy describes how it handles the Google account data it is given access to, which is my own.
What it accesses
With my permission, lbmd-mail reads messages, threads and labels from
Google accounts I own, using the gmail.readonly scope. That scope
grants read access only. The tool cannot send, reply, forward, delete, archive,
label or otherwise modify anything in a mailbox, and it requests no other scope.
What it does with that data
Message headers and bodies are displayed to me and summarised into a daily digest. To produce those summaries the retrieved content is passed to an AI assistant I use, Anthropic's Claude, and is therefore processed by Anthropic under their terms. No other processor is involved.
What it stores
- OAuth refresh tokens, one per account, in a directory on a single personal computer, readable only by my own user account.
- Nothing else. Message contents are not written to disk, not placed in any database, and not retained after a session ends.
What it shares
Nothing is sold, published, or disclosed to any third party, other than the processing by the AI assistant described above. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no data broker.
Revoking access
Access can be withdrawn at any time from the Google Account permissions page, which immediately invalidates the stored tokens. Deleting the token directory has the same effect locally.
Limited use
lbmd-mail's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
